Msheireb Properties celebrates Qatar Sustainability Week with ‘Talk Green’, Sustainable Exhibition and Workshops

Doha, Qatar, 21 October 2021: As part of Qatar Sustainability Week 2021, Msheireb Properties is hosting the first edition of its annual sustainability event “Talk Green”, a seven-day event that enables organizations, institutions, and individuals to present and showcase their green programs, ideas, solutions, and initiatives to foster public awareness and participation.
In collaboration with Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC), the event will take place at Barahat Msheireb in Msheireb Downtown Doha, from 23 to 30 October. It will feature a whole week of exhibitions, green talks, and workshops that appeal to all categories and family members.

For the first time, Msheireb Properties will organize the new “Talk Green” for corporates, institutions, and youth individuals to address a variety of eco-related solutions and strategies on sustainability to the public, in an interactive and informal style. The Talk Green presentations will take place on four days from 23 through 26 October at Barahat Msheireb Stage, starting from 5:30 PM.
The “Talk Green” event reflects the commitment of Msheireb Properties to promote sustainability, enhance collaborations with national entities, and raise awareness on sustainable living. Many local and international companies, as well as youth individuals, are taking part in the Talks to showcase their sustainable solutions and programs, and to encourage other organizations to adopt sustainability in their business and motivate people to adopt green practices in their daily life. Several local and international organizations are taking part in the sustainability week “Talk Green” event including Msheireb Properties, QGBC, Qatar Foundation, International Living Future Institute ILFI, The Supreme Committee for Legacy and Delivery, Shell, Doha Design District, Qatar Academy Msheireb, Zulal Wellness Resort, Qatar University, Greener Future, Torba, Beehive recycling, B.atna, Hungarian Embassy in Qatar, Doha Debates, Kahrama, and the individual presentation by Soud Aljanahi.

On 30 October, the week will be concluded with a series of workshops dedicated to promoting sustainability practices, especially among youth and children. From 5:30 PM, the public of all ages can participate in these workshops and learn more about how to practice real sustainability in one’s daily chores. Entities conducting the workshops are M7, Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, and Engineers Australia.

Sustainability is central to Msheireb Downtown Doha’s focus on conserving natural resources and enhancing the quality of design. Msheireb Downtown Doha is the first truly sustainable regeneration project from inception and all the buildings ensure optimal consumption of water and energy. Through adopting the highest standards of sustainability practices, Msheireb Downtown Doha paves the way for other developers to follow suit and adhere to measures set by the Qatar Green Building Council.
