Anassir (Elements) highlights the varied elements of Al Muftah’s research on memory, reflecting her native land’s social and collective fabric through her lens. Over the years, Al Muftah developed her practice across a variety of media from painting, photography, performance, and printmaking. To showcase this latest body of work, an amalgamation of Al Muftah’s multidisciplinary practice come together in her 360 profound explorations on Qatari culture and the rapid development in a short period of time.

The exhibition gathers different phases in time where the stories coalesce across space through a greater narrative, immortalizing past expeces into a contemporary setting. At first glance, elements of ambiguity and abstraction prevail across Al Muftah’s multipart show; however, upon closer inspection, the viewer is invited to intimately engage with each part of the show to create discourse around these fragmented memories on display. The exhibition is comprised of two new series by Al Muftah, Fataraat (Phases) and In’ekas (Introspection) which unveils her large-scale tapestry Yeebhom (Bring Them Back) for the first time in Doha.
