Barahat Msheireb is an open square in the centre of Msheireb Downtown Doha. It is the heart and soul of the city district and is the largest covered square in the Middle East.
At the west-end of Barahat Msheireb is located the five-star Mandarin Oriental, Doha hotel (MODOH). which has opened its doors to the public in March 2019.
Sahat Wadi Msheireb is the second largest square in Msheireb Downtown Doha. This beautiful square is connected to the Souq Underpass, the retail centric underpass which connects Msheireb Downtown Doha and Souq Waqif, the most trafficked tourist destination in Qatar.
Sahat Wadi Msheireb is located adjacent to Al Wadi Hotel Doha MGallery, Qatar National Bank and the famous international coffee house, Arabica.
Sahat Al Kahraba is a public space within Msheireb Downtown Doha, located on the famous and historic Al Kahraba Street.
Al Kahraba street is the cultural soul and historical link of the city district to its past. Al Kahraba Street (Arabic for electricity) is one of the oldest and most important parts of old Doha as it was the first street to get electricity in Qatar, making it a true reflection of the rising commercial importance of the Msheireb area. Al Kahraba Street will have its own entertainment component with building projection on both sides of the street.
At 825m2, Sahat Al Kahraba is a smaller space in Msheireb Downtown Doha, but it is a great location to hold street activations.
Al Kahraba Street is one of the most famous streets in Doha as it was the first street in Qatar to have electricity. “Kahraba” is translated from Arabic to English literally meaning “electricity”. The curving alignment of the street is directly correlated to when the underground cables were laid carrying electricity from Al Diwan to Qatar’s center of governance, Al Diwan Al Amiri. In the development of Msheireb Downtown Doha, the street’s original alignment and length were kept, as is the retail strategy of having shops on both sides of the street as the area was past center of activity and commerce.
Al Kahraba Street is 566M long and takes approximately 7 minutes to walk it length at moderate speed.
Sikkat Wadi Msheireb is the longest pedestrian street in Qatar and runs the full-length of the development West to East from Msheireb Metro Station to Souq Waqif. The street contains the five star hotels Al Wadi Hotel MGallery and the Park Hyatt, along with numerous retailers, commercial and residential buildings. Two squares – Sahat Wadi Msheireb and Sahat Nakheel – are positioned at both ends of the street.
Aside from the Msheireb Tram, which runs across the full-length of the street, Sikkat Al Wadi is a walking street for pedestrian and an ideal location to have pop-up events and activities that take advantage of the continuous consumer walking traffic.
