    His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Al-Kubaisi is Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at Msheireb Properties.

    Dr. Al-Kubaisi’s earlier assignments included Principal Advisor to Qatar Foundation, leading the conceptual development of Qatar Science and Technology Park as its Chairman until 2007, and serving as the Dean of the College of Science at Qatar University.

    He also serves on the Board of Directors of Qatar Foundation and Ooredoo.

    Dr. Al-Kubaisi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Biology from Qatar University and Masters of Science in Chemistry from A&T State University in North Carolina in 1983. He earned his Doctorate in Chemistry from the University of London in 1988.


    Jassim Telefat holds the position of Group Executive Director for Capital Projects, Facilities Management and Health, Safety, Security & Environment in Qatar Foundation. Since joining Qatar Foundation (QF), Jassim has been involved in a range of projects to create state-of-the-art facilities across the organization. His focus has been on creating an environment where students, staff and businesses can thrive, enabling them to make the strongest possible contribution to Qatar’s journey from a carbon-based economy to a knowledge-based economy. Jassim currently has overall responsibility for the strategic direction and implementation of all QF’s Projects, including the continued development of the Foundation’s infrastructure.

    Jassim is a Founder member of the Qatar Society of Engineers and a Founder and a Treasurer of the Qatar Building Council. He holds a BArch from Kansas State University and has been certified as an Associated Value Specialist by SAVE International, as well as being a LEED Accredited Professional by the US Green Building Council.

    Jassim is fluent in both English and Arabic. He participated in Senior Leadership Program of Qatar Foundation.


    Salah Al Jaidah recently joined Deutsche Bank as Vice Chairman of the Middle East and Chief Country Officer for Deutsche Bank AG (QFC) Branch. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank AG he had been at Qatar Islamic Bank, 4th largest Islamic Bank in the world, for over 5 years where he occupied the position of Chief Executive Officer.

    He developed and implemented corporate strategy of the bank and transformed Qatar Islamic Bank into one of the leading international Islamic institution of the world, he significantly improved financial performance of the bank resulting in exceptionally high growth in assets, deposits and net income of the bank in the last five years.

    Earlier from 2005 - 2004, Mr. Al Jaidah was the General Manager of Doha Bank, as principal executive officer, oversaw all functional areas of the bank, the third largest bank in Qatar. Defined and successfully implemented Bank's corporate strategy.

    From 1987 until 2000, Mr. Al Jaidah held several senior positions at Commercial Bank, the second largest bank in Qatar. The last position being Assistant General Manager Corporate Banking / Chief Lending Officer (1994-2000) with the responsibility of heading corporate, commercial and correspondent banking division.

    Mr Al Jaidah completed his BBA in Finance and Marketing from Texas Christian University and also studied Advanced Management Programme at Oxford Business School.


    His Excellency Sheikh Mohamed Ahmed Althani is a former Minister of Qatar's Economy and Commerce during the period from December 2003 till March 2006.

    Prior to that, Sheikh Mohamed spent a significant part of his career for more than (17 years) in the oil and gas industry mainly with Qatar Petroleum, RasGas and QatarGas, during which he occupied several senior positions especially in marketing of gas, refined products and petrochemicals for Qatar Petroleum. He was the lead negotiator for all the early long term LNG sales contracts with Japan, Korea, Taiwan, India, Italy and Spain. Through his writings and papers presented, he brought a wealth of insight into the oil and gas industries. Today, he is active as an international consultant in the field of energy and renewables.

    During his tenure as Minister, Sheikh Mohamed had an active leading role in several domestic and international issues pertaining to trade liberalization within the WTO and the free trade negotiations with several bilateral Qatari partners. Domestically, he initiated and executed a program of economic and trade reforms that included the production and monitoring of economic indicators for the country, balance between the fiscal and monitory policies, reforms within the monitory and operational aspects of the Qatari Stock exchange, revamp of the main Qatari commercial laws, restructuring the Ministry to operate electronically with a one stop shop of services which led to cutting the lead time to obtain a complete commercial registration from 1 month to 1 hour, and lastly, he managed to certify the Ministry with an ISO certification as the first within the Qatari public sector to receive such accreditation. Moreover, Sheikh Mohamed initiated two major projects; the Qatari free zone legislation and the formation of Qatar Financial Centre till its full operation. While at the Ministry He held several positions including the Chairman of Qatar Financial Centre Authority, Chairman of the Doha Securities Market, Chairman of the Measurement and Specifications Authority, Chairman of Qatar International Exhibitions Centre and a board member of the Supreme Council of Economic Affairs and Investments.

    His main activities now are consulting, research in the energy sector, the GCC political economy at which he is a visiting fellow at Oxford Centre for Islamic studies. He is a board member of Qatar Foundation Endowment Fund and Chairman of Qatar foundation Al Khor Academy. A board member of the London Business School Global Advisory board as well as Duke University.

    His academic studies span from a BAA in Industrial Management and Supervision with minor in Public Administration from Central Michigan University, a Senior Executive program from London Business School and a Global MBA from Duke University.

    His first book on the Arab Spring and the Gulf states will be published this year.


    Norman Lyle OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) was appointed an Independent Non-executive Director of the Board of Directors at Msheireb Properties.

    He is a Supervisor of Standard Chartered Bank (China) Limited and Standard Chartered Bank (Taiwan) Limited.

    He is also an Independent Non-executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Grosvenor Asia Pacific Limited.

    From 1997 to his retirement in 2005, Mr Lyle was Group Finance Director of Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited. During this time he was also a Director of Hongkong Land Limited, Mandarin Oriental Limited and Dairy Farm Limited. From 2002 to 2004 he also held the post of Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.

    Prior to 1997 he worked in the UK, Malaysia and Kenya for ICI PLC where he was Group Treasurer before becoming General Manager, Finance of Zeneca Group on its demerger from ICI PLC in 1993.

Msheireb Properties Management

    Eng. Abdulla Al-Mehshadi is the Chief Executive Officer of Msheireb Properties, a subsidiary of Qatar Foundation.

    Prior to Joining Msheireb Properties, Al-Mehshadi held a number of senior positions within the engineering and construction fields. Most recently he held the title of Managing Director and Technical Affairs Director of the Private Engineering Office (PEO). He also consulted for the Ministry of Environment where he advised on waste management and recycling, a concept close to the heart of Msheireb Properties’ commitment to sustainability.

    Abdulla Al-Mehshadi has held key positions at Qatar Fertiliser Company (QAFCO) where he was the Technical Manager for the first Melamine plant project in Qatar. He advised across the major phases of the project including engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning, and was later promoted to Maintenance Manager.

    Al-Mehshadi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Huddersfield in the UK. Continuing his education in Qatar, he now holds an Executive Master’s Degree of Business Administration from the HEC Paris in Qatar.


    Salem Mohammed Al Marri is the Chief Financial Officer of Msheireb Properties, a subsidiary of the Qatar Foundation.

    Al Marri has 16 years of experience in economy, accounting, auditing and management in various government entities and private companies. Prior to Joining Msheireb Properties, Al Marri worked as the AGM of Finance Group at Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB). He also spent the first three years of his professional career working in multiple departments at QIB.

    Previously, Al Marri also held key positions at Qatar Mining Company as Finance Director. For more than a decade, he worked at the State Audit Bureau first as an auditor in Oil and Gas Division and later as Head of Companies Control Division. During this time, Al Marri was sent on secondment to Deloitte Middle East, Moore Stephens (London) and Qatar Mawashi Company where, as Investment and Finance Director, he played a key role in developing Mawashi  financial performance.

    At Msheireb Properties, Mr. Al Marri is responsible for budgeting and  financial planning, control and reporting, Investment Appraisals, Funding & Investment strategy, and Treasury.

    Mr. Al Marri holds an Executive MBA from HEC Paris, with a major in Reinventing Business for Emerging Markets. He also holds a Master of Science in Islamic Finance from Hamad Bin Khalifa University (Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies QFIS) and completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Qatar in 1997.


    C.S. Chandrasekaran, the Chief Officer - Development and Asset Management for Msheireb Properties has a multifaceted work profile. From managing the economics of a company to a very rich professional experience in General Administration and Management, Chandrasekaran is adept at feasibility studies, financial analysis and business planning, translating into managing success for every project he handles.

    Over 25 years of experience has enriched his expertise in all areas of Finance particularly investment strategy and funding, project financing, negotiations, joint ventures, setting up business ventures in new territories, contracts and agreements, structuring deals, organisational structuring, treasury and risk management, IPOs, cross border tax planning. Chandrasekaran had the opportunity to work on different types of real estate development like Townships, Mixed use, Hotels, Condominium, Serviced Apartments, Industrial Estate, Shopping Centers, Schools, Clubs..Etc.

    At Msheireb Properties, Chandrasekaran is responsible for financial planning, control and reporting, Investment Appraisals, Funding & Investment strategy, Treasury & Risk Management, Corporate Services, Procurement and IT.

    Before Msheireb Properties, Chandrasekaran has held senior management positions with Blue Chip Companies in Dubai, Bangkok, Jakarta and India.

    A Chartered Accountant, Chandrasekaran holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Madras University, India.


    Maryam is the Chief Officer- Corporate Planning & Support at Msheireb Properties which she has joined as one of the establishment team. She led key strategic projects such as the organization restructuring, business process improvements and design of new corporate governance framework as example among many other projects. She had held several senior management positions during her tenure at Msheireb Properties, where she has continually delivered expert leadership and excellent professionalism. Her portfolio with Msheireb Properties covers leading the Corporate Planning, Quality and Excellence, Risk Management, Health and Safety, Human Resources and Information Technology.

    Being a highly experienced professional in different business areas and human resources in specific, with over twelve years of expertise she was selected to join Sidra Medical and Research Center which is under establishment on secondment terms as Chief Human Resources Officer. She was responsible for the strategic human resource planning and execution to achieve optimum performance from the highest caliber of talent. She took a strong lead in strategic matters and directs the management of all non-physician talent-related functions for Sidra. The main assignment for her was to turn around the Human Resources Branch to play more strategic role while delivering operation excellence.

    Prior to working with Msheireb Properties, she was Acting Deputy Manager of Human Resources at RasGas Company Limited where she has developed her professional skills over seven years. Promoted at RasGas five times, proving record of delivering superb performance and hands on experience working at Information Technology, Corporate Planning and Human Resources.

    Maryam holds an Executive MBA from HEC Paris, with a major in Innovation and Entrepreneurship and is certified in Corporate Governance from INSEAD Business School. Maryam completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at Qatar University and attained Professional Qualifications in IT being a Certified Cisco Network Associate. In addition, Maryam is professionally qualified Human Resources and had held PHR Certification from the Society of Human Resource Management. She had graduated from Qatar Leadership Center (QLC) Executives Leaders program. She is in positions of responsibility as Board Member of Qatar University Alumni Association. She had volunteering activities with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Permanent Committee for Organizing Conferences and one of her roles was PR Team Leader and Protocols Representative.


    Gamal eldin Ali Eltom serves as the Legal Affairs Counsel for Msheireb Properties, continuing an impressive career as a Legal Counsel for companies spanning Sudan, Egypt, Ethiopia and Qatar, which helped him specialise in region-specific legal issues in Construction Law and Real Estate.

    Most recently, Gamal worked in Qatar Petroleum Legal Department as Senior Counsel, where his duties include providing legal advice on Qatari Law, specialise in Real estate contracts, construction and building contracts, employment contracts and review and drafting legal documents. Gamal represented Qatar Petroleum at the Qatari Civil and Criminal Courts, and at Local and Foreign Arbitration Tribunals.

    Prior to his three years at Qatar Petroleum, Gamal served as Legal Advisor for the Arab Engineering Bureau in Doha. He advised on the firm's external engineering activities and transactions, and internally, on Qatar's labour laws, office Regulation and International Labour Organisation treaties.

    Gamal's wide-range of experience comprises working with the Cairo Institute for Human Rights, Sudan Future Care and the Sudanese Legal Aid and Consultancy Center. He is a member of the Charter Institute of Arbitrators in London, a member of the World Jurists Association and an honoured member of the 'WHO's WHO Historical Society' for 2008, a member of Sudanese Lawyers Association in Doha.

    Gamal received his LLB from the University of Khartoum in Sudan, earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Arbitration and an LLM in Construction Law and Arbitration, from Robert Gordon University in the United Kingdom.

    Gamal is the author of Arabic Legal references:

    • Legal Organization of Engineering Professions and Construction Activities under the Qatari Law, Dar Elnahda Alarbia, 2009;
    • Sudanese Legislation and Human Rights, Cairo Institute for Human rights, 2007

    David Charles Inches is the Chief Officer – Commercial of Msheireb Properties, a subsidiary of Qatar Foundation and the developer of Msheireb Downtown Doha, the world's first sustainable urban regeneration project.

    He brings to Msheireb Properties a wealth of experience, having managed large, multi-site, mixed use developments and leading property and retail companies in both regional and international markets.

    David was previously the head of commercial and mixed use property management at Aldar, in Abu Dhabi, where he managed five project openings, developed property management business plans and tested a new development control process, while collaborating with architects on all operational strategies.

    In Saudi Arabia, David was the General Manager of Al Faisaliah Mall and Office Complex in Riyadh where he was responsible for project management, facility management, leasing and marketing functions.

    Prior to relocating to the Gulf, David worked with some of the biggest names in real estate and retail in the UK, including FDP Savills, BAA McArthur Glen, Makro and British Home Stores.
